On March 4, 2026, Lu Xiancai, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nanjing University Committee and Vice President of the university, along with Dong Ting, Party Committee Secretary of the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering, and their delegation, visited the Nanjing Mineral Culture and Art Museum. They held discussions with the organizing committee of the China Nanjing (International) Mineral Gemstone & Fossil Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Nanjing Mineral Expo").Attendees from the Nanjing Mineral Expo Organizing Committee included Pan Zhengqin, Executive Deputy Director; Gui Changjie and Peng Zhaoyuan, Deputy Directors; Gao Yunfu, Executive Deputy Secretary-General; and team members from Jiangsu Jiangwen Exhibition Co., Ltd.

The 4th Nanjing Mineral Expo 2026 is scheduled to be held from May 14th to 18th at the Nanjing International Exhibition Center (No. 88 Longpan Road, Xuanwu District, Nanjing). As one of the key collaborating institutions for the Nanjing Mineral Expo, Nanjing University heard a report from the organizing committee on the overall work plan and preparatory progress for the Expo in 2026. The discussions focused on deepening university-enterprise cooperation, with key emphasis on advancing the planning and implementation of tasks related to the IMA (International Mineralogical Association) conference. Collaborative discussions were also held regarding the establishment and development of the Jiangsu Jingcai Mineral & Fossil Cultural Research Institute. This exchange further consolidated consensus, clarified the direction for subsequent cooperation between the two parties, and strengthened the academic and resource foundation for hosting a high-quality expo.

Through this discussion, the Nanjing Mineral Expo Organizing Committee deepened its engagement with Nanjing University, fully integrating the academic research resources of the university's top-tier geology discipline. This further solidified the professional academic foundation of the expo, injecting strong momentum towards creating a higher-standard international mineral event. This initiative is expected to efficiently advance the preparatory work for the IMA conference, promote the deep integration of university scientific research with the mineral culture industry, continuously enhance the internationalization and professional level of the Nanjing Mineral Expo, and empower the high-quality development of Nanjing's mineral culture industry.
